Exploring the Wonders of Deep Marine Science at HKU SWIMS

Our school recently organized an inspiring educational visit to the Swire Institute of Marine Science (SWIMS) of the University of Hong Kong. This visit offered our students a rare opportunity to step into a world-class research facility and explore the delicate balance of our underwater ecosystems.

The visit focused on the rich diversity of marine life found in Hong Kong’s waters. Students engaged with expert researchers to learn about local species and the complex biological networks that sustain them. By observing marine organisms up close, our students gained a profound appreciation for the ocean’s beauty and the urgent need for marine conservation and environmental protection.

The experience sparked a great wave of interest among the participants, many of whom expressed a newfound passion for marine biology and environmental engineering. Witnessing the intersection of nature and high-tech research helped our students visualize how they can use their I&T skills to solve real-world ecological challenges.
