Student Union Election Forum and Election Day

On September 19, all of our teachers and students gathered at the New Gymnasium for the Student Union Election Forum. Shining brightly with confidence on the stage, members from the proposed cabinet Ourania introduced their beliefs and goals to the attendees.

Planned activities and welfare programmes were brought to students’ attention, giving them a better understanding of what Ourania could do for the benefit of the community. Questions from students who were curious about the details of the various programmes were also raised, which the members of Ourania then addressed calmly and patiently for all to hear. Satisfied with the answers, the attendees thanked the proposed student union cabinet with thunderous applause.

On the morning of September 26, one week after the Student Union Election Forum, came the Election Day. Students filed neatly into the School Hall to cast their votes. In the solemn chamber, important decisions were made. Given Ourania’s fruitful Election Forum a week ago, there was reason to hope that their successful election should be within reach.

And during the morning assembly on October 2, the result of the election was announced. Ourania received support from more than two-thirds of their peers, garnering 578 votes in total. We look forward to seeing our elected student union cabinet bring positive changes to our community and reinforce our students’ sense of belonging in LTFC. Congratulations to Ourania once again!
