Harmonizing Cultures: A Celebration of Chinese and Western Music in School

To cultivate students' interest in learning and performing Chinese and Western musical instruments, our school's Learning Support Team collaborated with the Music Department to hold performances of both Chinese and Western music during post-exam activities. This allowed students to enjoy music while also relaxing.

Chinese music has a long history, with sounds rich in the essence of time. Through engaging explanations and impromptu performances by experienced musicians, students deepened their understanding of Chinese tones and felt the power of music. Many students eagerly sought the opportunity to perform on stage, allowing them to collaborate on short pieces within a short time. The Chinese music performance workshop opened students' eyes, with many expressing interests in joining different instrument classes.

In addition to Chinese music, Western music was also featured prominently. Our school's marching band achieved outstanding results in the 2024-25 academic year, winning the Gold Award at the 4th Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Wind Band Ensemble Competition and the runner-up position at the Sha Tin District Wind Band Competition organized by the Hong Kong Arts Association. During this year's concert, the marching band performed over eight pieces, sharing their learning outcomes with students and creating a lively atmosphere.
