Lunar New Year Fair 2010
The Lunar New Year Fair was held on 9th February, 2010 and welcomed by early rains which added additional challenges to students, who have their first experience of running a small 'business' on their own. Although online bidding and e-trading has become popular among youths, running business in a physical stall require more strategies and entrepreneurial skills.
As we believe that a small trial today can be a big motivation for tomorrow, we allow the students to design their business plan and operate their miniature business freely. Each class was assigned a stall and the class committees are responsible for collecting capitals, buying goods, preparing the logistic steps, decorating their stalls and communicating with fellow classmates and class teachers, and last of all, boosting of the sales.

Do their selections of goods reflect the interests of the majority?

A sense of reality: bargaining with the stall keepers can be tough but is also of great fun and excitement.

Winning the 2nd prize of the Best Stall Decoration Award, our English Café has a new look and New Year atmosphere this day. Students are encouraged to explain the Spring Festival couplets (揮春) and rituals of the festival in English. Really amazing, fortune telling is also available.

Zealous students are trying their best to catch attention of potential customers.

An appeal for the relief of the victims of Haiti earthquake.
This popular and meaningful Fair aims at promoting one of the core values of our school --- Entrepreneurial Spirit (企業精神) by offering a chance for students to learn to apply strategies and to work together to run business and make profit, as well as to arouse their awareness of corporate social responsibility (企業社會責任). For a more worthy cause, we take this chance to raise fund for the hundred thousands of victims in the Haiti earthquake, which took place on 24th January 2010.

Cash coupon is used in the fair.
Wishing you all a happy and fruitful Chinese New Year!
